Quick Tip for Families in ICU: My Sister is Now Learning
to Walk Again, 12 Months After I Was Told by The ICU Team, She Won't Make It
“I wrote you an email last year! Thank you so much for your support, help, and advice. My sister awoke last month. She is going great! She is fully conscious now. No short term memory issues. She is home with family. She is learning to walk again. It was a long road but we are glad that we never gave up.
Now, my sister can tell her own story.” This is another testimonial from one of our members that we worked with.
My name is Patrik Hutzel from intensivecarehotline.com and this is another quick tip for families in intensive care.
We published a blog post just a few days ago,
“Quick Tip for Families in ICU: My Sister Had a Cardiac Arrest and Hypoxic Brain Injury, Is It Possible She’ll Never Wake Up?”, and I’ll link
towards that blog post. This was a member we worked with last year, and we obviously advised her. There was doom and gloom from the intensive care team that her sister will never wake up, she’ll
probably die. Twelve months later, her sister is awake and she’s walking again. This is the power of not giving up.
If you have a family member in intensive care and you give up, well, you know the outcome. You will know the outcome. It’s not difficult to know that if you give up when you have a family member in intensive care, that they will most likely die. If you don’t give up, that’s when you
get “miracles” but I don’t think they’re miracles. They’re just a result of not giving up.
90% of patients in intensive care approximately survive, if
they get best care and treatment. That also often takes some advocacy, because if you’ve watched my videos for any length of time, intensive care teams are trying to get people through ICU as quickly as possible to maximize their revenue, to maximize their bed flow, to maximize staffing resources, and to maximize equipment resources. It takes work to challenge intensive care teams and making sure you make informed decisions, have peace of mind, control, power, and influence, so that your loved
one gets best care and treatment always.
If you don’t do that, the intensive care team will have the upper hand. You can’t really afford that because you’re in a once in a lifetime situation that you simply cannot afford to get wrong. Imagine this family would have gotten it wrong with their sister. Their sister probably wouldn’t be here anymore if they hadn’t taken our advice, if they hadn’t
reached out to us and said, “Hey, what do we need to do? Give us advice.”
We have helped hundreds and hundreds of members and clients over the years to save their lives. I’m not exaggerating, this is just another of many testimonials that are lining up because we are professional intensive care advocates. We understand intensive care inside out. We understand the games intensive care teams are
playing, and we prepare you. We have strategies for you how to counteract those games.
The biggest challenge for families in intensive care is always that they don’t know what to look
for. They don’t know what questions to ask. They don’t know their rights. They don’t know how to manage doctors and nurses in intensive care, which is exactly what you’re up against when you have a family member in intensive care.
I have worked in critical care nursing for 25 years in three different countries where I worked as a nurse manager in
intensive care for over 5 years. I’ve been consulting and advocating for families in intensive care since 2013 here at intensivecarehotline.com. I can very confidently say that we have saved many lives with our consulting and advocacy. You can verify that on our testimonial
section at intensivecarehotline.com where you can read our clients’ and members’ testimonials, and you can also verify it on our intensivecarehotline.com podcast section where we have done client interviews. You can listen to the interviews or watch the interviews, what our clients and members are saying.
It is with no exaggeration whatsoever that we have saved many lives, that should tell you everything you need to know about the state that most intensive care units are in. They’re not acting in the best interest of a critically ill
patient. They’re acting in the best interest of their budget and their bed management. They want to decide who lives and dies. At the end of the day, you need to decide whether your loved one wants to live or die; it’s your job. We are here to help you and walk you through it step by step: what to do, what to say, and what questions to ask. That’s what we are here for.
That’s one of the many reasons why I do one-on-one consulting and advocacy over the phone, Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, whichever medium works best for you. I talk to you and your families directly. I handhold you through this once in a lifetime situation that you simply cannot afford to get wrong. I also talk to doctors and nurses directly, and I ask all the questions that you haven’t even considered asking but must be
asked when you have a loved one critically ill in intensive care.
I also represent you in family meetings with intensive care teams.
We also do medical record reviews in real time so that you can get a second opinion in real time. We also do medical record reviews after intensive care if you have unanswered questions, if you need closure, or if you are suspecting medical negligence.
We also have a
membership for families of critically ill patients in intensive care and you can become a member if you go to intensivecarehotline.com, if you click on the membership link or if you go to intensivecaresupport.org directly. In the membership, you have access to me and my team, 24 hours a day, in the membership area and via email, and we answer all questions intensive care related. In the membership, you also have exclusive access to 21 eBooks and 21 videos that I’ve personally written and recorded. All of that will help you make informed decisions, you have peace of mind, control, power, and influence, making sure your loved one gets best care and treatment
always.
All of that you get at intensivecarehotline.com. Call us on one of the numbers on the top of our website or simply send us an email to support@intensivecarehotline.com with your questions.
